New Delhi: Narayan Jagadeesan, the talented former wicketkeeper-batsman of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who was surprisingly unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, has made a remarkable comeback by displaying his exceptional batting prowess in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT).

Jagadeesan, who represented KKR in the IPL 2023 season, pulled off an incredible feat by hitting six consecutive boundaries in an over during the match between Tamil Nadu (TN) and Rajasthan (RAJ). The 29-year-old’s explosive display earned him 29 runs in that over, setting a strong foundation for TN after RAJ pacer Aman Shekhawat conceded five byes to start. Jagadeesan concluded his innings with a total of 65 runs from 52 balls.

In the match, Jagadeesan provided Tamil Nadu with a strong beginning in their chase of 268, but they ultimately fell short by 19 runs. The talented batter from Tamil Nadu has been in exceptional form this season. He was the top run-scorer for his state team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), amassing 280 runs in 7 games, with an average of 40 and an impressive strike rate of 163.74.

In current VHT, Jagadeesan remains Tamil Nadu’s leading scorer, with 303 runs in six games at an impressive average of 60.60. During the first part of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, the explosive right-hander further demonstrated his worth by leading the Tamil Nadu charts with 453 runs in seven innings, with an impressive 75.50 average.

In the ongoing VHT, Jagadeesan continues to be Tamil Nadu’s top run-scorer, accumulating 303 runs in six matches at a remarkable average of 60.60. During the early phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, the dynamic right-hander further showcased his value by topping the Tamil Nadu run charts with 453 runs in seven innings, maintaining an impressive average of 75.50.

Jagadeesan’s recent form indicates that he is in exceptional touch. His brilliant batting, particularly in white-ball formats like the VHT, will likely make IPL teams rethink their decision to overlook him in the auction.
